CZ-USA Angus Hobdell wins 2006 Steel Master Title
The Steel Challenge is the premier steel match of the year, it takes place in Piru, California. The overall winner of the match is normally shooting and Open style hand gun, but the match is split into several different categories: Open (normally the match winner), Limited and .22

There are bunch of different categories but these are the main ones. The match started Thursday with the .22 match which I was able to win with a 72 seconds ish time. Friday we shot the Limited match I used a modified TS in 9mm and came 6th not sure of the time. Saturday brought out the cameras from the outdoor network and the Open match, I managed to finish in 9th Place overall. So all in all a good weekend for CZ USA.

There is also an overall category, for the best total of the 3 guns together (.22, Limited and Open) This is the Steel Challenge “Steel Master” After the dust cleared I just managed to edge out Jerry Miculek to win 2006 Steel Master Title.

CZ USA sponsored a side event with the CZ75B, the event was called “After Burner” 3 plates from a low ready. The time for winning the event were in the low 0.80 seconds, yes that's 0.8 for 3 shots from low ready.
I believe the winners were Taran Butler, Jerry Miculek and Mike Setting.

One gun was raffle to participants and the other 2 went to the main prize table. Roger and I were present at a table in the vendors area answering questions about the CZ range of guns. The interesting factor was last year people comment were ‘Oh this is a CZ I heard about them”. This years comment were definitely more “I just bought one of them” so we are definitely seeing an up swing in CZ’s visibility in the handgun market.
Way to go team.
