Shot a rental at the range where I’m a member. By the looks of it, this CZ had clearly been rode hard and put away wet. 50 round test. Shooting reloads slow fire at 7 meters made one hole, three out of five attempts with five rounds each. At 17 meters shooting double taps full speed from close contact (drawing from holster not permitted at this range) 19 of 20 rounds on target and 14 in the thoracic cavity. Medium slow fire head shots from close contact, four out of five in the cranio-ocular cavity. Nice weapon. It’s next on my list

Purchased my first CZ Pistol. Chose the 97B for the caliber. Without a doubt, the most accurate 45 I have ever fired. I own pistols from Wilson, Baer and Brown. Biggest names in the Business. My CZ 97, out of the box, out shot them all. Pistol is a bit on the heavy side and I do not care for the plastic guide rod, but without a doubt the most accurate 45 I have ever fired. Worth every dime.

I have several 1911’s, all with some degree of custom work, hey, I like a .45. Bought this 97 several months ago, after looking for about a year for one. I can’t really find fault with it, extremely accurate out of the box! Best .45 I have. As for any work on it, the only thing I had to do was remove the loaded chamber indicator, it had a tendency to cause a jam when using cheap amo, now it eats anything I feed it. Great gun at a great price. I probably would have gotten the BD version if they would have had one, still might, if I run across one.

This is my third CZ, the other two being an 85 Combat, and a Rami, both 9mm. To get right to the point, this is the best shooting, most accurate 45 I’ve ever shot. I’ve owned the following: Kimber Target II, SIG Match Elite, Glock Long Slide, Colt (USA) 1911, and Remington (USA) 1911. I know many people have more experience, but there you have it. The CZ 97 B is first class. How many other manufacturers provide a test target? Mine showed a 1/2″ mean deviation from dead center. I didn’t believe it until I shot it myself. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic guide rod. I bought a metal replacement. I also switched out the recoil spring from 13 to 16 lbs. when shooting plus P ammo at 950 FPS. I’ve never experience one failure to feed or to eject with any weight or velocity of ammo, even when I mixed them in the same magazine. I tried to limp-wrist the gun, it still wouldn’t jam. It carries just as easily as any 1911, including IWB carry. This pistol is a LIFETIME keeper. I really like the design of the aluminum grips. They have an art-deco look, very classy. Well done CZ. Now, why not make the same kind of adjustable sight that I have on my 85 Combat. Now that would be perfect!!!
