Product Description

The P-09 is our full-size polymer offering, boasting an impressive 19+1 capacity in its flush-fitting magazine – unsurpassed by any other 9mm service pistol. Featuring the versatile Omega trigger system, the P-09 is shipped with decockers installed but can easily be converted to a manual safety with the supplied parts and instructions. Also included are small, medium and large backstraps that allow the user to customize the pistol’s grip to their hand while retaining the natural point of aim that CZ handguns are known for. With an integrated 1913 Picatinny rail, the P-09 is readily adaptable to low-light situations. The Omega DA/SA trigger provides crisp single action trigger break, while providing the safety of a DA first-pull option.

I am a long time Beretta fanboy. I picked up a P09 and was excited by how great I shot it for the first time. I see a lot of people jumping right into the CGW mods to make the trigger better. I’m not sure what they see that is different than me, but this thing has a great trigger right out of the box. I have medium-large hands and even the small grip feels excellent and reminds me a little of my Colt 1911. Very comfortable gun to shoot for extended periods. I may change out the sights to an all black rear and fiber optic front, but I’m blaming my eyes, not the sights haha.

This pistol is an amazing shooter, great ergonomics, considering its size (comparable to the glock 17). I haven’t had a FTF or a FTE. It shoots as well as any pistol that cost twice as much. Truly pleased with this purchase. I use it as my winter owb carry. I would hesitate to recommend this to family and friends. This is a must have in anyone’s collection. If you see one in a gunshop just ask to hold one. It’s worth 5 min of your time.

If I have to only choose one pistol for war the P09 is it. Reliability and accuracy is amazing. The thousand round test of my p09 I’ve done was boring. No malfunctions at all. Cheap reloads. brass,steel and aluminum cased ammo. Fmj jhp tmj hard cast lead. Any ammo put in my P09 it ate it just fine. From 7 yards out too 100 yards. Outta the box accuracy for a 500$ handgun will put to shame ‘high end’ pistols.

Jon Campbell – Suggest you practice with targets at about 20 feet; that is the average distance reported by police on LEO and CCW shootouts. This way you won’t get frustrated shooting at 20 yds. The CZs are great pistols, more accurate than others on average due to the slide being inside the rails. I have at least one CZ at every pistol caliber, and they are just fantastic. With the current effort by the US Army to find a replacement for the M9, it would really be something if the CZ P-09 entry became a serious contender. I’m saving my pennies to get one myself. This is my first gun and i love it! I am not going to complain about accuracy (due to me not being able to hit the broad side of a barn and have only shot maybe 50 rds though a hand gun in my life) I am shooting between 15 to 20 yards mostly, and if i set up pop cans i can hit about 6 out of the 18 rounds i put in the clip. The main clip i use is very hard to get the 19th round in. The paper that came with it showed that the cz shooter could keep a 2″ group at 25 meters. I am going to have a friend shoot it that is much better than me to see how accurate it is. I have put 400 rounds through it (100 pmc, 100 federal brass, 190 winchester whitebox, 10 hornaday critical defense, all 115gr) never packed the clip, just loaded it and shot and haven’t had one FTF or FTE. Trigger is gritty in double action and fairly smooth and easy in single action ( after being well oiled, it is dryer than a popcorn fart out of the box). I am very happy with it for the price even though i am a new guy, time will tell. I shoot a 100 rounds a week at least thought it. Feel in your hand is great, weighing feels great, and it is a joy to shoot. Only complaint is when i lightly squeeze the nose of the barrel and frame there is .020 of play, although i called cz and they said it completely normal for a polymer duty gun.

I’ve had my P09 for over a few months now. After experience with a few different brands I am very picky and know what I want and need in a handgun. I am down to 3 guns now. A glock 30s-glock 43, and CZ P09. I love ruger, I love sig, etc but don’t get me wrong. I carry the 380 because its small enough and simple(G42).Other guns are just too damn ugly and have too many stupid levers. This P09 is very solidly built and has got to be the ‘Best looking pistol” out there today! This replaced my Sig 1911. Its about time a gun company finally got it right! Looks-feel-construction-performance! Now if CZ would make this exact gun in a .45 I will dump my glock 30s in a heartbeat!

I have been strictly an upland, turkey and small game hunter owning shotguns including my CZ Redhead Premier 12 gauge. I wanted something small so I purchased a .22 semi auto pistol from a buddy of mine. That in turned got me hooked after shooting and getting used to it. I just purchased the CZ P-09 9mm semi automatic pistol and love every aspect of it. It is very easy to take apart and clean and I kept everything stock right out of the box. I really like the decocker, because that is what I got used to on the .22 pistol I have. I now will be carrying it with me every time I go hunting.

have had my p09’s for about a year now got two matching black with cz’s famous almost night sights. shoot two pistols at gunsite several times per year, used to shoot matching sig p210’s but now I found better shooting pistols than my sigs, these two rather ergonomic hi capacity p09’s are a much better value and plus two floor plates can be had for about 12 bucks a piece making these 21 round mags. love these accurate right out of the box pistols. keep booth in my suv along with a tavor and a fnslp 12 guage, cause you never know when a bunch of deer, turkeys or vermin will just jump out and test your skills as a point pistol man.

The P-09 is without a doubt the best value anywhere in a large frame 9mm handgun. A week before I bought mine I also had just received my brand high dollar 1911 back from the manufacturers custom shop after some warranty work and a complimentary trigger job. I took them both to the range for their first times together. Initially I had been more stoked about the sexy1911 and started out with it for 50 rounds. Hmm, ok.. Not bad.. But not what I had hoped for. Then I grabbed the CZ P-09 and 350 rounds and multiple shredded bulls eyes occurred before I knew it. It’s just better handling, more ergonomic, and 100% reliable. A pleasure to shoot. Both guns are good but the CZ makes ME better. Same thing this weekend. The EMP4 got 100 rounds and the big CZ got the remaining 300. Just get one! Best value out there. I’m selling another Springfield right now so I can pounce on the first 2075 BD Rami I can find. Really impressive CZ, and my brand loyalty has taken a hard turn. The P-09 is a really nice gun I have shot the 75 B omega and the SP-01. I have run about 500 target rounds through my P-09 and it responds well I have shot some other brands glocks, S&W’s, Sig’s they are all nice guns but once you buy a CZ you will see why just about everything out there is modeled after the CZ-75 all you have to do is shoot one, because they are some smooth pistols.

I have the Spo1 tactical, BD Police Model, P07 and P09 nothing is more fun then rapid firing 20 rounds from the very controllable P09 the Po7 is my carry the other 2 home defense. AMAZING quality never one issue ever from A CZ. I am astounded at the low muzzle flip and no flash either shot a Beretta 92 and thought it was decent but far worse recoil and muzzle flip and flash period. CZ is #1

Never owned one but swapped with my friend half a day on the outside shooting range. He was happy to get hands on on my SP-01 Tactical and I was very eager to try polymer from CZ for the first time. Being not so good fan of polymers, I wanted to try this one out, even though I was afraid that it might shake my overall satisfaction with CZ. When I looked at the pistol for the first time in real, I liked it immediately, especially knowing it’s hammer, not the striker fired. But still…was a little nervous about it and how I am going to feel about it. Shot exactly 500 rounds that day, my friend coming over couple of times and asking if I wanted to keep going or get my SP-01 back. I stayed entire session, 500 rounds very well placed on target, just like my SP-01.
I thought that it would have more perceived recoil and will be hard to control at rapid fire but was pleasantly surprised that it was holding very nice, accurate and not one malfunction in 500 rounds. Confirmed my obsession with CZ is not baseless. Thanked my friend, who was also impressed by my SP-01 Tactical.If I didn’t have so many CZ’s already, I would buy this one in a heart beat. But I already have 75B and both SP-01, with manual safety and Tactical. It would be hard to convince my wife that it is of “matter of life and death”. Great gun.

I handled the S&W m&p9, and glock 9mm. Neither felt like “the one” for my first handgun. The CZ P09 wasn’t in stock anywhere locally.
After reading every review on the web, I took a leap of faith and ordered the CZ P09 sight unseen. I haven’t stopped smiling since it met my hand, and every time I open the safe.

The Glock is now relegated to my closet and the P-09 .40 is my new bedside companion.

I have the P-09 in .40S&W. Love the 15 round capacity. This gun handles recoil very well. The trigger is very smooth in both DA & SA. Very accurate! Only this is my from sight dot fell out after only 150 round fired. Sent to CZ under warranty and they are replacing the front sight as we speak. Can’t wait to get my CZ back. Easily my favorite gun.

I was looking for a full sized 9mm. I had it down to 3, HK VP9, SMITH and WESSON M&P, and the CZ P-09. After handling all 3, I chose the P09. I have small hands, and the P09 fit me better, and it a 19 rd. capacity! Took it out to shoot for the first time.
I did slow fire at 7 yards first to check poa to poi. I was very happy at the results, poa and poi were very close! Then moved out to 10 yards. Kept everything inside a 4 inch group. Went rapid fire, double taps the rest of the shoot. I shot 100 yds and 70% were inside the 7 ring..50% inside the 9 ring!.. For my first time shooting this, I am very happy. Love it!!

I’ve owned Springfields, Sigs, Taurus, Kahr, and this is, by far, my favorite pistol. The slide and barrel is lower due to the inverted slide rails and makes quick acquisition very fast and natural. Like pointing a finger. Not to mention extremely accurate as well. 2.3K rounds (reloaded) with dirty, military pull down powder and still no hiccups. Haven’t even cleaned it yet, just to test… The second they come out with a decocker on the 75SP-01 I will buy it instantly. I always wondered why CZ was loved so much in Europe…now I know why!!

I love the pistol for its feel, accuracy and trigger setup. Can be switched to a safety but I love the decocker arrangement as it came out of box. The biggest downside I see is magazine availability and cost. I use this pistol as more of a recreational shooter so I would love to be able to stock up on extra magazines without breaking the bank. I hope this improves down the road as it’s popularity increases. Very well made pistol.

Having previous great experience with CZ guns, I bought CZ-P-09. Right after removing it from a packing box at the range and adding a drop of oil, we decided to check it. It did great. 100 rounds of typical range ammo without single jam or any other problems. Most bullets were penetrating same area of target 3-4 times from about 20 yards. Not a single bullet went out of target with two people shooting. Great gun.

Impressive right out of the box. Bought this mainly for 3 Gun use, though I carry it a few times a week, just to get the feel of it. Not a REAL carry gun, my XDS .45 is my carry gun, but for 3 Gun, the CZ is the ONE I suggest to anyone that wishes low recoil, fast follow up shooting, and large capacity. Field stripping is a cinch, love it, love it, love it. My wife that isn’t a shooter likes the way it is almost NO recoil when firing. She can “Fast Shoot” pretty good and stay on an 18×24″ paper, so that’s saying something for this weapon. Well done CZ, I knew you had something to brag about. Well Done!

This P-09 is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I didn’t need to change the backstrap or the decocker, as those were just right out of the box. I can ring a 1/2 scale IDPA steel target at 25 yards all day long with little effort and nary a jam of any kind. Dis-assembly for cleaning is a snap. All in all the P-09 is a excellent sidearm.

I bought mine used. My only gripe is that the rear sight dot fell out while firing the first few rounds.
Very accurate, easy to stay on target with almost no recoil. It can be stripped with no tools in a matter of seconds. The safety can also be switched for the decocker with no tools, though you might need needle nose pliers for the spring. Everything else can be easily removed with a punch.
Jon Frost, the backstrap is very simple. You will need something to stick through the lanyard hole (I used an allen wrench) to compress the hammer spring. Then, use a punch to drive out the pin at the base of the backstrap, safely release the spring tension, and then you can slide the backstrap down to remove it. Make sure you don’t accidentally turn the lanyard hole backwards when you go to put the pin back in! Compressing the spring and driving in the pin at the same time is difficult, so you may want a helper.

I waited and waited for the FDE to come out and could not wait so got the black and color makes no difference. It feels like an extension of your forearm and hand. The accuracy is incredible, zero muzzle flip. At rapid fire, target acquisition is very fast. I already owned the Olive Drab P-07 and it was amazing. Now I have them all in the Omega series. Shoot it one time, and you can’t walk away from it.
