Product Description

The Valor series is our flagship line, meaning it’s the best we have to offer. Frankly, we feel it is the best built production 1911 on the market.

The Valor is loaded with features, including a forged frame with 25 LPI checkering front and back, an undercut trigger guard, tactical ledge night sights, VZ slim line G10 grips, EGW carry bevel bushings as well as our tool-steel fire controls and other premium small parts. Every piece that goes into the Valor series is hand-fit, polished and blended to provide you with not only the best functioning gun we can provide, but also the best looking.

The Valor can be had with either a matte stainless glass bead finish or our super durable black Duty finish. This finish is a revolutionary treatment process that actually bonds to the components and creates a super-durable matte black skin. Our Duty Black finish beats any of the spray-and-bake finishes most companies use today, hands down. Our durability testing proves it and our customers love it – which is proof enough for us!

The Valor is a Government full size 1911, but also comes in a Bobtail Commander version known as the V-Bob.

  1. :

I can personally attest to the superb quality of the Valor. I have other “Custom” brands costing much more, but my Valors have the fit, finish, reliability and accuracy out of the box that is unsurpassed!
The Valor 1911 is a beautiful firearm that feels good, looks good and shoots extremely good!
You get more than your money’s worth with Dan Wesson Firearms.

  2. :

I have 3 other higher level production 1911s. After buying the Valor they don’t measure up anymore. Dan Wesson makes the finest production 1911 on the market and its quality rivals full customs. Plus the duty coating is the best I’ve ever seen, it’s not even wearing on the slides and I have put over 500rds through it. Last but not least its a joy to shoot and extremely accurate(no surprise, my CZ75 runs circles around any 9mm I have). It is my first DW but definitely not my last!

  3. :

I own both the Valor and the Specialist by Dan Wesson. I also have owned and worked all the other make and models of 1911 pistols. By far, the Dan Wesson Valor is best production gun I have ever owned or worked on. I would compare it the fit, finish, accuracy, and operation to an Ed Brown or Wilson or Les Baer. Colt and Springfield Armory, although great production guns in their own right, don’t match the precision fit and finish of the Valor. There is no question that the quality of this gun is comparable to a custom after market firearm. I recommend it 100% as the best gun for the money. Job well done for Dan Wesson by CZ.

  4. :

I have been using my Valor for a few years now.
It has been 100%, and I mean 100% reliable. Since the first round was fired, not one single malfunction of any kind.
All sorts of ammo. I carry it at our hunting property with 255g +P hardcasts and it shoots those as well as standard 230g loads.

  5. :

I just purchased my 4th Dan Wesson 1911 in the Black Valor Model; I also own the Stainless Valor as well; also own one Black and one Stainless Specialist. As usual the fit, finish, operation, and accuracy are superb! I do love the slim line grips which provides a good wrap around feel which enhances control, stability and Target like steadiness while shooting the gun one handed in Bulls-eye Target course of fire (Slow, Timed and Rapid Fire sequences with target ammo). However,I would suggest that the gun come with a Magwell Main Spring housing in the slim-line variety to finish off the bottom of the grips in lieu of leaving fully exposed the magazine bumper pad. My personal preference is to have either a flat bottom magazine or a Magwell with magazine bumper pad. Otherwise, great gun in all respects!! I endorse this product completely.
