I took a laminated 550 ,375 to South Africa, up in the northern cape, shooting a barnes 235 X. Collected 7 animals with 7 rounds. It was as great a foot safari as ever. Hard work as it should be. A great, durable rifle. Abuse does'nt bother it.

I have hunted the Limpopo regeion in South Africa and the Gokwe South region of Zimbabwe with excellent results using my CZ 550 chambered in .375 H&H. I shot a silver medal Southern buffalo in South Africa mesuring 107 2/8 and a bronze medal Greater Kudu in the same area using 300 gr. Barnes TSX hand loads @ 2,560 fps. The Kudu was a one shot kill and the buf. was spined with the first shot and required several down through the top to keep him down. In the Gokwe area I took two buffalo with the same loads, one as yet, an unmeasured bull and the other a very large cow for the cheif's council dinner. The following week I harvested a very nice 39" Sable at a distance of 235 yards. All shots were with a Leupold 1-5 VX2 scope using Warne quick detach rings. All-in-all this rifle is superbly accurate using my 300 gr. loads and when it comes to dangerous game, is enough to provide confidence that recycling will be 100%.

2009, Mozambique, A few clips of from Lee Grigson's 2009 Safari with Kambako Safaris. These clips feature an action packed lion charge and a great shot with spectacular effect on a Hyena. This lion hunt was a little different as it wasn't over bait but was found while bird hunting on the last evening of the hunt. The lion had been dead(the charge suggests he wasn't completely dead) for ten minutes before approaching by vehicle in open country- a safety factor that proved wise. Lee used a custom CZ 550 American Safari Magnum in .375 H&H with a custom fiberglass stock by McMillan shooting Barnes triple shock 300 grain bullets. Many thanks to Lee for sharing his Safari with us. Thanks also go to Jumbo Moore of Kambako Safaris for sharing the footage. Apologies from Jason at CZ for the amateur editing job... Jeremy (hunter) and Pieter (outfitter) had a great opportunity on a recent hunting trip to Africa. Jeremy was using a CZ 458 Win Mag with 500gr Nosler solids and was backed up by Pieter with a CZ 550 458 Lott using 500gr Hornady solids. We were about 35-40 yards from the big guy when Jeremy launched the side-on brain shot. The follow-up shots put the animal down within 10 yards from it's initial position. This was an improptu picture taken with the two rifles next to each other. I have to say that in 12 years of professional hunting in Africa, my CZ has never let me down at critical moments. Thanks guys. Pieter Kriel

My first dangerous game hunt in Zimbabwe. After 8 days of walking 8-12 miles a day, bad weather, snares, poachers, dogs, and extremely wired buffalo I was able to connect with this old dugga boy at 18 yards with my CZ 416 Rigby. He was bedded down with a young guard bull that didn't want to leave him which made things a bit cheeky.

It will come as no surprise to CZ that rifle performance was super. I took a brown laminated .375 and ran tubbs bullets to break in the barrel. Then loaded a barnes 235 gr. triple X. Five rounds at 100 meters in less than a few centimeters or one inch at 100. 7 rounds and 7 animals on foot. Thanks for a great rifle.

This was my 3rd Safari in Africa with Angus Brown Safaris. I took a nice Buffalo cow with my 416Rigby CZ 550 Safari Classic. This rifle performs flawlessly and accurately. I have fired about 100 rnds from it by now and have had no mishaps whatever. I look forward to more Dangerous Game hunting with it in the future. Also I had a CZ 550 American in 9.3X62. I took quite a lot of game with it and also performed perfectly. Eland 274yds. Springbuck 186 yds. Black Wildebeest 174 yds. Blesbuck 154 yds. Baboon 274 Yds. Bushbuck 87yds. All with a 286gr. Nosler PArtition. I am a former US. Marine and have taken shots unimaginally longer than this. But not with a 9.3 of course. This is an accurate rifle and the SS trigger is pricelesss when one has lilttle option on a shot that suddenly becomes more match like than expected.
