I've had this CZ for 5 years now and it is, by far, my favorite rifle. Bolt is as smooth as silk, and locks up with a very positive feel. The laminated stock has a smooth, wonderful feel to it, and is drop dead gorgeous. (Even my gun-phobic wife likes the look of this rifle.) The adjustable trigger allowed me to safely set the standard pull to about 3.5 pounds with almost no creep, and the set trigger at near telepathic weight. It shoots ragged hole 5 shot groups at one hundred yards with almost boring regularity. It stays under 1/2 moa at least out to 600 yards. I have always run the same load (168 grain AMax's in front of Varget), with higher velocities (+150fps), using a full grain less than either of my shooting partners with their 24" Remington 700's. I guess CZ lined my barrel with Speed Stick, or something. Over twelve hundred rounds, now, and it shoots every bit as good as the day I bought it. This rifle will definitely be passed down to my son (or daughter).
After decades of not shooting, I went in search of a rugged weather resistant .22 LR bolt action with very good accuracy. I visited the local gun shop and shouldered everything in stainless that they had in my price range, but wasn't impressed with overall quality. In the next rack down, I picked up something different. It wasn't stainless but even the stock felt better finished, like someone who made it cared. Sounds weird, but that was my first impression. I shouldered it and while it needed a scope it just fit and was on aim to the spot on a poster I'd eyeballed. I cycled the bolt, and oh what a difference! Someone that "gets it" engineered that action! I swear none of the others cycled like a quality machine, but more like a broke down ancient farm implement. Czech Republic? Who knew! At least it wasn't Chinese! Not being at all familiar with CZ, I looked online and found so many references to CZ's quality and accuracy and great value. It all supported my brief inspection of a 452 American. I was keenly interested in the Style for its nickel finish and weather resistance, and liked that the plastic stock wouldn't worry me if it got wet. I went back to the local gun shop and had them order one. It turned out to be the last their supplier had. I have been nothing but amazed with the quality and accuracy of this .22! I put a mid-grade scope on it and within a couple hundred rounds (it loves Federal AutoMatch, if that's allowed) I could have pretty consistent nickel and dime size 5-shot groups at 50 yards off the bench! I have never shot that well, and now wonder how much of my past mediocrity is the firearm?!? I've gotten quarter size groups at 100 yards but the wind messes with me at that range (lack of trees past the 50 yard target). Knowing that other 452s were at end of life, I was fortunate to obtain a couple more before they were gone. I'm still enjoying the Style so much the new ones haven't been out of their boxes yet. It will be like a present when I do bring them to the range, I'm sure. I'm 58, need new glasses, the doc says I have cataracts starting, so I won't mind getting a better scope to overcome that limitation. I'm totally pleased with the performance of the Style, and thoroughly enjoying shooting. I'm doing pretty well but have more to learn and am looking forward to getting a sling and doing some off-hand shooting. This has been a rewarding return to the simple pleasure of shooting a .22. You could spend lots more and not have the "Out-of-box" quality of a CZ. If you just want a great shooter at very reasonable cost, pick a CZ that appeals to you. I came here to investigate a deer rifle, though I've never hunted more than squirrel or rabbit. I don't yet know what I'll get, but it will be a CZ!
I been taking this out to 300 yards for over a year now and this is the best group I shot with reloads!! I top it with a Leopold 6 X 20 MKIII. This is the best money I spent for a rifle!!
Have owned this gun for nearly a decade. I just got back from the range. Shooting at 650 yds with my reloads this gun will shoot a 2.4 inch group at 650 yds. That is 3/8 Moa at 650. I have shot groups in the zeros at 100 with this rig. I am using a custom 52gr bullet and H380. This gun is by far the most accurate out of the box non custom rig I own. I have spent thousands of dollars on long range rigs. this one will out shoot most of them. You will not be dissapointed!
took the CZ out first time, fired 4 five rnd groups. Last group all 5 rnds went into 1 hole a 50 meters. won't get rid of this one, now looking for a cz 550 in 30-06 for hunting.
Incredibly accuracy , robust and solid feel, great quality for the money out of the box, trigger is excellent ,sigthed in at 200 meters in 4 shots , and 2 more to adjust at 300m I shoot mainly at metal silhouettes and this bad boy dropped em all without a single miss once sighted. Its simply amazing
After a 40 round break-in session, I am shooting groups no bigger than 1/4" center-to-center at 50 yards in .308 Winchester. I cannot wait to shoot it at 200+ yards. This is my third CZ rifle, but it will not be my last.
I shot a .22-250 off a mounted bipod, 1"grp/200yrds. Plucked 4 .22lr shells off a 2x4 at 150. On a scale of 1-10 this rifle is a 12
