Our Classic Bobtail has proven so popular due to its concealable profile that we decided to bring you something even more concealable -- the Concealed Carry Officer. This model is built as a classic CCO, with a Commander slide on top of an Officer frame. This combination provides the control and reliability of the Commander with the easy concealment of the Officer frame. With the proven stopping power of the .45 ACP in the two provided 7 round flush base magazines, you won’t feel under-gunned.
To make it more comfortable and make it disappear even easier while carrying concealed, we bobbed the back of the mainspring housing. To reduce the overall weight, the frame and mainspring housing are made from anodized aluminum. To help control recoil, we included an undercut trigger guard and our new “Chain Link” pattern on the front strap and mainspring housing. The slide and small parts are coated in the same “Duty” finish that we use on the Valor. Like all of our night-sight models, you will find dual colored Tritium lamps for faster low-light target acquisition and a white target ring on the front to aid in front sight concentration. The CCO wears a medium length trigger shoe to facilitate faster draws and a better fit in the hand. The gun is rounded out with our stippled Shadow grips. Like all Dan Wesson models, this gun is both beautiful and functional.

I have never owned a handgun before, but have shot plenty of them. I must say that the Dan Wesson CCO fits my hands perfectly, and is everything I've ever wanted in a semi-automatic pistol. This is a very well manufactured pistol and everything about it says "quality". The finish is a "duty" finish as stated by CZ and seems to be very resilient to scratches. I have put 100 rounds through it and only had one jam due to something on the cartridge itself...not the gun. I can't wait to take it out shooting again! Mine also aims high, but as another reviewer suggested, its an easy fix. The only other complaint is the generic Dan Wesson 1911 manual that came with the gun. I would prefer to see a more comprehensive manual specific to the CCO. Overall, this CCO is perfection in a handgun. You can't go wrong with it!
What a great little/light weight carry pistol. Mating the officers alloy frame with the Commander slide is the best carry option available in a 1911 format. I've already ordered a second CCO. Mine feeds and functions flawlessly with Colt 7 shot magazines as well as the Dan Wesson supplied magazines. The front sight is too short and causes the pistol to shoot 8 inches high @ 25 yards and that is my only complaint and is easily fixable.
1911's are Colt, right ? Never owned a 1911.Shot a few never any good with the .45 Auto.Own and shoot many revolvers, this pistol rivals the accuracy of any of my Colt or S&W revolvers.I am extremely pleased with my purchase of this fine 1911.I have zero control issues, shot perhaps my best group ever with any handgun with my DW-CCO .45 Auto. and factory Blazer Brass 230gr.FMJ.
Was in the market for a concealable .45, and was looking at one by a competitor who's advertising is better than their actual product, when I found this CCO at my local dealers. It was one he had bought for himself but had to reduce his 'personal inventory'. I immediantly bought it, and haven't had one second of remorse, unlike my dealer who almost cried to let it go! My thanks and admiration to the gunsmith that assembled this fine pistol, it is a credit to exacting craftsmanship little seen today!
The fit and finish of this handgun is just spectacular. The match of the finish between slide and frame is surprisingly good. All the controls work exactly as they should without mushiness or wobble. The chain link pattern is distinctive, and the wooden grips are comfortable for carry while giving a good purchase on the gun. I think I am going to replace them, though, simply because I don't want to gouge them up while carrying the gun. I also like how the green of the front sight appears brighter than the yellow of the rear sights, which helps me track the front sight better in low light. I've recommended this gun to many friends, and a couple are waiting for theirs after shooting mine. It's an excellent option for a 1911 I can carry comfortably!
I bought a Dave Pruitt Pointman model 9 years ago. It is hands-down the best 1911 I have ever owned. After 16,000 rounds through her the gun is still as tight as it was when I bought it. There is NO play in the slide to frame fit and NO play in the barrel to slide/ barrel to bushing fit. It is still ridiculously accurate. I plan on purchasing a CCO in the immediate future. I was at a gun show Saturday and a dealer had a CCO for sale. I was in love. Everyone else was fondling the CCO's next door neighbors, you know the 1911's from those two companies that spend as much money on advertising as congress spends in a year? Yep, those two. After having owned various 1911's from both of those two companies I can say they aren't even in the same league as Dan Wesson. Kudos, guys.
I own a safe full of 1911 pistols; many are full blown custom guns. The problem is that none of them are suitable for concealed carry. I bought the CCO and was blown away! This is the first 1911 I have ever purchased that needed nothing. The fit, finish, accuracy, reliability, trigger pull, & features are truly "Custom" Grade at an inexpensive price. My gunsmith's comment was priceless: "This is not an assembly line gun. A master gunsmith has done all the work!" Love my CCO!
