CZ 550 Big Bore Rifles Designed for American Hunters Available in 14 Calibers

The CZ 550 big bore rifle line provides all the benefits of the classic Mauser action in an updated version for today·s hunter. “CZ developed the CZ 550 big bore rifles to provide the American shooter with a super-accurate rifle available in a variety of calibers with a set trigger option,” said Josef Jares, Director of CZ-USA. “The American influences are evident on the Model 550 Minnesota with a drilled and tapped action for Remington 700-style scope bases, a stock outfitted with sling swivel studs, and a 23.6″ four-groove hammer forged barrel supplied without sights as our US customers prefer.”
The CZ 550 is designed in the Mauser style with two opposed locking lugs and a non-rotating extractor that insures controlled feeding and extraction. CZ·s updated rifle meets the needs of today·s hunters, including an easily adjusted trigger pull weight, takeup and overtravel, a 550· streamlined bolt sleeve, a bolt disassembly take-down, and the absence of the familiar blocky Mauser bolt stop and ejector unit projecting from the left side of the action.

CZ 550 Rifle Configurations

CZ 550 Standard
A walnut wood stock with cheekpiece, also with pistol grip checkering and reduced buttplate. The stock configuration allows aiming with mechanical as well as optical sights.

CZ 550 Lux
A walnut stock with Bavarian style cheekpiece, checkered and supplied with a ventilated rubber buttplate. The stock allows aiming with mechanical as well as optical sights.

CZ 550 Minnesota
A checkered walnut stock without cheekpiece and with reduced drop at heel, supplied with a ventilated rubber buttplate. The stock is suitable for aiming with optical sights only.

CZ 550 FS
A classic Mannlicher styled walnut full stock with cheekpiece, checkered and supplied with ventilated rubber buttplate. The stock is suitable for mechanical as well as optical sights.

CZ 550 Battue
The walnut checkered stock is supplied in Lux or FS versions. The shortened barrel (520 mm) is equipped with a ramp rear sight, especially for moving targets or shooting at short distances.
